Down to Earth
Down to Earth is the name of the new ministry that Mimos Network is launching on Sunday March 7, 2021. Down to Earth is going to be held on the first Sunday of every month and it will be a practical workshop and demonstration of various topics related to growing your own food, sustainability, care of creation and practical living.
The name “Down to Earth” is multifaceted and the multiple definitions describe the focus of Mimos Network moving forward.
- Down to Earth events will be focused on topics that relate to the earth.We will be looking at ways that we can effectively utilise the spaces of earth around us to grow our own food and how we can grow plants and create native habitats that will benefit our native fauna. We will also look at how our lifestyle choices impact the earth both locally and globally and we will seek to identify ways to be more responsible stewards of God’s creation.
- The atmosphere of all our Mimos Network ministries is very down to earth. Our gatherings are very informal and allow space for food and conversation. All our gatherings are multi-age and we seek to create a welcoming and accepting environment where everyone feels at home.
- We are committed followers of Christ and following our core verse we seek to be imitators of God and follow the example of Christ (Ephesians 5:1-2). God loved the world so much that he came “down to earth” as Jesus Christ to live, die and rise again to life so that we all may live.
